From simple origins on the little island of Anguilla in the West Indies to the experience of world cultures and cuisines during my worldwide military travels to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, I got hooked on seasoning with herbs and spices.
This "World Tropical Fusion" of flavors give hints of the melting pot of cultures that contribute to the Caribbean Cuisine of today.

Tropical Seas Cuisine and Spice is a subsidiary of Saldemar Enterprises, Inc, established in Sacramento California. Both names were inspired by the island of Anguilla in the Caribbean Tropics and in particular, the island's main salt pond at Road Bay Sandy Ground which produced
"Sal del Mar Caribe"
"Caribbean Sea Salt"
From the early days of Anguilla to the 1970s, the Sandy Ground Salt Pond sustained many on the island residents. The locals would harvest the salt crystals and grind them to corn (salt cure) their fish since there were no refrigeration at that time. Salt fish dishes are still very popular throughtout the Caribbean Islands today.
All our blends are made with sea salt with the exception of our No Salt blends

Our mission here at Tropical Seas Cuisine and Spice is to inspire chefs, caterers, and home cooks to experience the cuisines of the tropics; primarily from the tropical countries within the Tropic of Cancer regions to the North and Tropic of Capricon regions to the South of the Equator; including the American, European, and Asian influences on the cuisines of these areas.
