This is a traditional snack in the Virgin Islands called Pate, (pronounced Patay). This is short for the spanish Pastellito from Puerto Rico. It is not to be confused with the French pate known in European cuisine or the Empanada of other Spanish cultures. In the Virgin Islands, this delicious treat is made with fillings of beef, salt fish, shrimp, lobster, conch, and curry chicken. They are usually fried but can also be baked. So tasty
